Uncaria – Medical history
Incas were the first who used Uncaria as a medicinal plant. They used its root to treat a variety of medical problems
such as inflammation, stomach ulcers, all kinds of breathing problems, and it was also used as a sedative. In a study
of one of their tribes, it was found that the tribesmen who took Uncaria on a regular basis had a much stronger immune system in comparison with other tribes.
Years later, when Uncaria reached the West, many studies were conducted with this plant. Researchers isolated the
plant’s components, better understood its ability to fight infections, and introduced it to the pharmaceutical industry and natural medicine.
Nowadays, Uncaria can be found in many places, especially in unique food supplements that strengthen immune
